Black - 1977 Datsun 280Z
I would post pics but Im not sure how or if I can until I become an official member. (which I plan on joining on Thursday).
I cant wait to get this thing registered and on the road.
Does anyone know if I will have problems getting my car registered or where would be the best place to take it?
Thanks,
Patrick

you should be able to take it to any place that does safe and inspection. Then take the title and paperwork with safety and inspection papers to the dmv, and pay the government and you will get your plates.
here is a link for a tutorial on how to post pics. You dont need to be an official member to post pics. Cant wait to see the car

Congratulations! Shouldn't be too hard to get it registered. The process will vary a little depending on if it has an out of state title. In either case you will have to get the emissions test and safety inspection. If it is an out of state title you will also have to do one of the following.
1. Take the car to the DMV office and they can do the VIN check.
2. Print out a VIN form from the DMV website and then have a police officer do the
inspection and sign the form.
If you don't have a temporary permit for it you should also get one from the DMV I look forward to seeing the car. Are you still planning to bring it to the car show this Thursday night?

Yes sir I plan on having it at the show on Thursday night for sure.
The car does have an out of state title, so I am going to have to take the car with me to the DMV? Is there anything else I will need to do or just take the car and all the paper work needed to get it registered?
I will try and get some pictures posted up here today.

Would it be easier to have a cop come out to my house and have him do it for me? Is the form just on the DMV's website?

If you have it inspected by a Police officer then you don't have to take the car to the DMV office. It is just a matter of if you want to drive it or something else there. Here is the link for the form you need to have signed by a Police officer if you decide to have it done that way.

Once you get safety and emissions done then you can take those two forms along with the VIN verification form to the DMV office.

Thanks for your help on this guys. I hope to get it all taken care of by Wednesday.
I just spent the day taking off the front and rear bumpers. My dad knows a guy that will pass my car without the bumpers.
Hopefully my new carbin fiber bumpers will be here before Thursday.
