After using some extra material I have, I came up with this.

My first camera mount i used 1/4" aluminum flat bar, very hard to bend and heavy. Plus it was L shaped and used only one suction cup.
The bad thing with plexiglass is that it's tough to drill without breaking.
The ideal material would be 1/8" aluminum flat bar. The frame can be made to any dimension and you can have the camera sit on top or below the crossbar.
The suction cups are Harbor freight specials only $2 each.
